CT Scanning RTDs, Thermocouples, Sensors & Switches

Inside the Sensors We Trust

Sensors and switches are fundamental to reliable operations, ensuring systems run safely, efficiently, and predictably. While every automated decision depends on a sensor doing its job, subtle defects can cause readings to drift or systems to shut down unexpectedly.

Typical indications we find using X-Ray & CT include leak paths in potting, cracks, clusters of pores in tip welds, shorting caused by FOD, broken conductors, wall thinning, and internal misalignments.

Surface-breaking pores and pore clusters in sensor tips are critical defects that can compromise both structural integrity and signal reliability. These discontinuities can create leak paths for moisture or contaminants, weaken tip welds, and act as initiation sites for cracking under thermal cycling or vibration.
