This fast & cost effective non-destructive method is used by our technicians both in the lab and in the field. The method involves magnetizing a ferromagnetic product and applying dyed iron particles. When there is a disruption in the magnetic field the particles react, causing a visual indication of the defect.

This method is particularly useful for the inspection of tooling blocks. Tooling blocks experience a variety of extreme conditions, and if they fracture during a manufacturing process this can cause significant delays while the tool is disassembled, repaired, and new steel is cut.
