Liquid Dye Penetrant Inspection is used to identify surface discontinuities in a variety of assets. Our ASNT / NAS410 certified technicians perform PT on assets for all industries on materials like metals, composites, plastics, and ceramics.
Because it’s a relatively quick inspection method and produces high sensitivity to the smallest of indications, it can be used to inspect large quantities of parts. It can also be used to evaluate large or complex shapes, and can be applied in the field for regular maintenance planning or failure analysis.
Below is an automotive casting – inspected in lots of 500 per day – to reduce the probability of failures in the field. A hairline fracture is revealed, barely visible during visual testing (VT).
