CT Scanning Micro-mesh Filters
In-line filters are used for a variety of applications with the primary purposes of eliminating debris. They are found everywhere from refrigerator water filters, automotive fuel filters, and if they fail or are not optimized properly entire enterprises could come to a halt.
This case study demonstrates a stainless steel mesh over-molded inside a plastic housing. We are able to characterize fiber orientation of the plastic, the proximity to edge of the mesh, gaps in the mesh, porosity throughout the housing, and quantify the pore sizes of the mesh.
